Why Schoolmates exists
Schoolmates is an Schoolmates project that helps people rediscover their school communities, reconnect with classmates and keep the stories that belong to them. Our school directory brings together schools from many countries and education systems.
A school becomes a place again
Each school has its own introduction, short-post board, photo albums, reunions and conversation rooms. Approved school members can meet in public school rooms or create private conversations for two people or a larger invited group.
You choose what you share
Profiles and albums start private. You can share selected albums with approved school communities, and choose whether a school post may appear publicly. For ordinary members, private rooms are restricted to their participants. Separately authenticated server administrators can inspect rooms with a recorded reason and audit trail. Connections are encrypted, but conversations are not end-to-end encrypted.
A directory that grows with its community
School records come from identified source datasets and reviewed community submissions. A listing is not proof of affiliation with a school. Missing schools, corrections and membership requests are reviewed before approval. School changes are limited to once every 30 days.
